UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
– Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
Welcome to the House of the Lifted Lorax — home of Ron (the Route 66 News guy) and Emily (the Red Fork Hippie Chick), a pair of Tulsans with a passion for sustainability.
When we met, we found that one of the things we had in common was an uncommon world view. Neither of us cared about driving fancy cars, living in big houses, or keeping up with the Joneses. We were more interested in miles per gallon than miles per hour, and “location, location, location” was less important than “R-value, R-value, R-value.”
We married in 1999, and God willing, we’ll celebrate our eighth wedding anniversary this summer by standing in our backyard, watching our power meter run backwards as our new solar panels harvest free energy from the sky.
This blog is dedicated to all the Lifted Lorax types who share our dream of a more environmentally responsible lifestyle.

Read your blog with great interest. I think you are the first people who might be able to share your experience on using some new technology to make a difference. I was wondering if you would be interested in contributing to a new initiative I am working on. A community for people interested in electrical energy efficiency. The site “wattwatt.com” - a play on the words what and watt is aimed at sharing experiences around the world. Please take a look - the site is in beta - just type in “wattbeta”. Jonathan Buck
